FOREST BATHING HAWAI‘I

Let's go for a walk in nature!

Choose from two different walk experiences to connect with others, yourself, and the natural world
FOREST BATHING IN A RAIN FOREST
In-person, guided forest therapy walks at Lyon Arboretum, Honolulu

A gentle, highly interactive two-hour immersion in a 100-year-old botanical garden. Your guide will offer a series of sensory invitations, plus opportunities to share your observations with other walk participants. Small groups of no more than four allow for an intimate experience, as well as safe physical distancing. See FAQ page for additional safety protocols.
FOREST BATHING IN A RAIN FOREST
(120 MINS, FRIDAYS, 9-11am)

FOREST BATHING IN PLACE AND ONLINE
Virtual nature therapy walks from wherever you are with certified guide in Honolulu

In these stressful and isolating times, it's important to find ways to be gentle with ourselves, to reach out to others, and to open our hearts to the wisdom of the More than Human World -- plant, animal, rock, sky, river, ocean, human, virus, the weak among us and the strong, the visible and the invisible.

If you cannot travel or gather with us in-person under the trees, we can embrace human technological invention and our imaginative ability to connect across distances. Find out more about our live online forest bathing experiences and join us for a virtual walk! Complimentary walk for first responders, healthcare and essential workers.

Phyllis is a passionate and very, very special guide into the world of forest bathing. She was kind enough to let us participate with our 8-year-old twins, one of which is on the spectrum. She made him and us all immediately welcome. Don't expect a normal hike, much of this experience is very slow and deliberate, forcing you to actually SEE and FEEL and HEAR the rain forest. There is the overused term of "being in the now." It applies here.  -- Daniela

Phyllis pays attention to every detail of the forest walk, and her knowledge, love, and respect for nature radiate. I would recommend this for both locals and visitors alike as everyone can benefit. It’s also a great value for a three-hour event! -- Jennifer
