  1. Lyon Arboretum and Forest Bathing Hawaiʻi follow CDC and State of Hawaiʻi protocols to protect you and others from COVID-19.
  2. To limit exposure, the Arboretum is keeping strict hours for visitor access. PLEASE ARRIVE AROUND 8:45AM (when gate opens), SO THAT OUR WALK CAN BEGIN AT 9:00AM. IF YOU ARE LATE, YOU'LL FIND GATE CLOSED AT 9:15AM. (You will not be refunded for missing the walk due to tardiness.) We will also need to exit by 11:15am.
  3. Please do not attend if WITHIN THE LAST 15 DAYS, you have been or are sick with COVID-19 or any communicable disease; tested positive for COVID-19; were exposed to someone with COVID-19; have not felt or are not feeling well (for example, if you're experiencing a fever, dry cough, tiredness).
  4. Please bring and wear a cloth face covering and/or face shield for the entire time you are on the property.
  5. During the walk, practice “social distancing” and keep at least 6 feet/2 meters away from people you don’t live with. Forest Bathing Hawaiʻi reserves the right to discontinue the walk for failure to comply with masking and distancing requirements.
  6. Restrooms at Lyon Arboretum are currently closed to the public. Please wash your hands before arriving and bring your own hand sanitizer products.
  7. For your protection from the sun and insect life,  I suggest wearing a light-weight, long-sleeved shirt and long pants, plus socks over your ankles. A hat and sunglasses are also helpful. Also bring and apply sunscreen and an effective mosquito repellent (fragrance-free is highly preferred for our sensory immersion). And stowing a poncho or rain jacket is always a good idea for a walk in the rain forest!
  8. The ground we'll be walking on will be grassy lawns and well-maintained trails. There are some easy elevation changes. Covered shoes with good traction are a good safety measure. If you need a walking stick, please bring one.
  9. You should be able to walk a mile slowly, as well as sit on the ground or stand for about 15 or 20 minutes. Bring a towel or mat to sit on -- ground or benches may be damp.
  10. We'll be forest bathing for about 2 hours, so you may want to bring some water to stay hydrated. A small daypack for all your things will keep your hands free.
  11. Please let me know if you have any medical conditions or environmental allergies that you think I should know about.
  12. Minimum age for participants is 16. Walks can be specially designed for family groups and younger ages on request.
  13. I will need to collect a signed waiver of liability before we embark on our walk. Please read the waiver and electronically sign it no later than 12 hours before the walk. See waiver button at bottom of your screen or go to this secure site: bit.ly/fbhiwaiver2020.

Feel free to CONTACT me if you have other questions.

When I hike, I love being out in nature, but to be honest, I don't really absorb much of what is going on around me. I'm more fixed on my goal. Forest bathing is a totally different experience and much healthier for your mind and spirit! With Phyllis there to guide you, you will see everything around you in a new way. It was an amazing, uplifting experience and truly something you should try!!! -- Crysttal,  O‘ahu

I discovered a well of gratitude. -- Sheryl, Oʻahu
